About

Walhalla is a small, picturesque and historic mountain township in the Gippsland district’s Baw Baw Ranges in Victoria, in the south-eastern corner of mainland Australia.

Only a handful of permanent residents live there today, but in the last decades of the 19th century, it was the heart of one of the most vibrant gold mining districts in the world, and a major influence in shaping the prosperity of a newly founded state.
